A conversation with Gail Tverberg of OurFiniteWorld.com. Gail Tverberg is an analyst who has been researching the connection between oil limits and the economy for nearly 10 years. She writes a widely-followed blog called Our Finite World. Her background is as an actuary, working as a consultant to insurance companies. She also has a foot in the academic world, where she has lectured and written academic articles. Gail was in China in March-April of this year lecturing at China University of Petroleum in Beijing and is scheduled to return next spring, to teach another class.

Good for JHK for recognizing Gail’s fine work and doing the interview. Falling EROI is even more of a problem than an energy prices that are either too low or too high. Then there’s all that CO-2. We live–and will die–in interesting times indeed.

Gail predicts that in the next 10-20 years there will be economy-dependent problems of all kinds, with the population falling off. That, however, is one consequence which seems extremely unlikely, since American politics is opening the floodgates for the dark floods of the Third World to slosh in and balloon our numbers. Christian America, allied with all the atheist media pinkos and the putrid POTUS now in power, demands that all sentient beings be given all the goodies Whitey has developed. After all, according to the Demonic Party and other socialist groups, Whites have “stolen” their advances from the jungle bunnies and other stagnant types. So it seems unlikely that the overload will abate until the empire collapses.

Well then, she would be wrong then wouldn’t she. The world’s economies started taking major downward steps 7 years ago. Remember the “global financial crisis” that they still talk daily about recovering from? Our economies have been duct taped together with nothing more than mountains of un-repayable debt, and lies. Getting angry isn’t going to help you in the least marmi-noo. There’s plenty of positive steps that you can still take, but your time is rapidly running out.
