$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('SeaGypsy', 'R')alphy has spent plenty of time in Asia, as have I, and many others here. The comment above by dolan is wrong. About a billion people in SE Asia and another billion around the rest of the world earn between $5- $10 a day. That is reality regardless of the .0000001% or 3% controlling 90% of the wealth, depending on specifics. The average commuter vehicle for the 2 billion is a motorcycle, usually a 100 mpg 125cc cheaply made chinese copy of a japanese bike. Tell the 2 billion they shouldn't care about the price of oil because they can't afford a car anyhow.
I have also spent some time in SE Asia & Africa, and I stand by that statment, most of the people who earn that kind of money don't have their own personal vehicle, they share one with the rest of their family.
