No. It's not. I suggest bringing up http://www.sciencedaily.com and searching for advances in neurophysiology and genetics. It does take time to develop, much like the internal combustion engine, and it's never perfect, much like the internal combustion engine. So fantasy? No, but it'll be a while before you can buy it at Wal-Mart.

And yes, many meds are quite effective. Are they perfect little miracles with no side effects? No. Nothing is, including "natural" methods.
