Probably at work like most people, maybe doodling a comic version of his sociopathic alter-ego.

Several items are close. I guess I multitask.

Although I must point out that I use a Zeiss 3-9 instead of Leupold. It's in a detachable mount on a (legal) auto conversion HK-91.

And Narz - I'm not at work. Because I don't have a job according to the conventional definition of such. Nor do I want or need one.

Good for you. I'm curious, if you have the time/inclination I'd love to hear what do you do & how you got to where you are (via PM if you prefer). :)

Jack doesn't need my advice, but hopefully he fully cleaned and lubed his M-60 this weekend. It probably doesn't need it, but its very soothing in these times, kind of like possessing "the ring." Hope he took my advice and got a tripod.

Yep, took the advice, got the tripod.

Interestingly enough, one of those friends I mentioned suggested prepping the '60. Amazing how great minds work together, isn't it?

Yes, it's prepped.

I would love to hang with The Dark Lord.

I would suggest hanging cheese doodle snacks in a tree and laughing at the starving suburbanite zombies jumping to reach them when SHTF.

From a purely theoretical perspective, during a crises people will gravitate to a perceived leader. That leader can then direct the followers in ways that can enhance desired outcomes. Casualties are a given; however, the value of the mission must be weighed against the costs.

The starving suburbanites are a potential resource. Some of the higher grade samples can be refined into something useful. The more useful product can then be applied.

All in accordance with the operative laws, statutes, and regulations having the force of law, of course.

In the coming post-apocalypse world, I can see Jack leading the zombie hunter troops like a cross between the Pied Piper and Colonel Kilgore from Apocalypse Now.

They will call him "General Stonewall Jack."

Choose your leader well in a perceived crises ...
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

The public has an established track record of choosing leaders in a non-crises environment. How well has that worked out?

When a crises hits, and emotions overwhelm logic, with the smell of fear filling every nostril, will the public choose more wisely?

My point was directed to individuals here as opposed to "The Public".

Now let's be logical, Pops. Individuals here don't select leaders, the public does. The last time things got this dire in Europe, they shot their leaders and selected a nasty crew to lead them. Not just Germany.
