$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he responses I've recieved actually enforce my beliefs that this race is truly brutal, destructive and largely immoral.

Stopping a group of parasites from killing you, your friends, and family members is immoral?

When did attempting to survive become immoral? And if it is immoral, I want nothing to do with morality.

Screw you all, you people know you're just picking on me for the sake of it. If I see any of you dead after the crash, I can die happy.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Sencha', '2'). This has been a good question to ask. The responses I've recieved actually enforce my beliefs that this race is truly brutal, destructive and largely immoral. Additionally, not only are we prone to revert to our primal natures based on these responses, I think we are actually looking for the excuse to do so..

So what's your answer Mr moral majority? :P

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Sencha', 'T')o those that have insulted my asking of this question, I say this: You counter with another question you think is intelligent, and I'll answer in a way that will make you feel small.

Seems to me the more obvious question is: If people were insulted by the question, why did it get two pages of responses?

If it comes down to me killing someone or being killed, im not going to think twice. Morality to me is staying alive and protecting those I need to continue my life. Sure in a normal world I would never think its right to kill someone, but the world we are facing will be far from normal. Having your morals step in between a life or death decision does not seem wise to me.

And Sencha, no need to take offense, all I ment was that this question seemed to awnser itself. You said yourself; chose between skinny dying helpless people or strong murdering warlords.. it just seems obvious what people would choose

It would be harder to deal with the beggars. Shoot the robbers, that is part of the reason for stockpiling weapons and ammo, and they are a clear threat. The threat from the beggars is indirect, because they are not standing there shooting at you. But the beggars may make it more difficult for you to survive should you give in to your generous side and help them.

For my part, I would help as long as it clearly did not endanger my family and me. Any of us can fall on hard times, even with the best plans, so beggars must be viewed in the "there but for the grace of god am I" type attitude. One lesson is to choose a retreat far enough from big cities to minimize this problem to begin with. Just watched the movie, "The Village" which reinforces my long held belief that venturing out into the boonies will be the last thing that city dwellers will have the courage to do.
