Following the link above is the complete story. Peter first showed himself to be ready to demonstrate the cell, and also those of his friends he helped do build. But then in turned out that his one was broken, his friends either moved or left firing range or not his friends anymore or their cells also broke down. So the guy started backpedalling in the worst of the meanings of this word.
Which certainly adds credibility to the joe cells, to be certain, it adds about -50 of credibility, making it equal -50, cause it was zero before.

I myself do not believe those guys claiming to harness subatomic ether with a wrench and pliers, so I was glad to know there are guys from NEW ENERGY COMMITEE outthere going to debunk this crap in reallife, putting their own effort to it.

They are really smart, though. They first claim to believe any crap out there. Cold fusion? No problemo, muchacho! Very cold fusion? Pas des problems, mon cher ami! magnetic super power? Whatever!

And then, when the inventor is all over with proud and is like "I am the chosen one, I am.. I am.... My prototype works like big time", that is where they jump in out of nowhere with a modest line : " so it works, chum, huh? Ok we come to visit you tomorrow, cant wait to see it"... And here the inventor normally reports of some problem which is soooooooooo bad it needs some decades to be fixed. Or backpedals himself into oblivion.
