There are times when I am ashamed to be part of the human race. I felt that shame while watching this video. http://www.big-boys.com/articles/policetazer.html

I don't know if an avian flu epidemic will kill us off before the stupidity epidemic takes hold. Stupidity is the biggest pandemic facing humankind.

I didn't know that. That's the bad thing about moving posts. If I saw it here, I would not have posted it.

Women stripping in Indian forest to foil police

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')omen in an eastern Indian forest are stripping naked to distract police and to help a criminal gang avoid arrest while illegally chopping down trees, the Hindustan Times reported on Tuesday.

Sure. They cut down all the forests. Wreck the habitat. Completely disregard the law. Kinda like Weyerhauser only smaller scale.

Sounds like the bad guys have decided to try the tactics of La Tigresa.

Miami police to stage random shows of force

Unread postby UIUCstudent01 » Tue 29 Nov 2005, 20:57:34

This is an insane idea. Whoever thought of it should be shot... (well, ok, reprimanded.)
USAToday Article
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ' ')MIAMI — Miami police announced Monday that they will stage random shows of force at hotels, banks and other public places to keep terrorists guessing and remind people to be vigilant.
Deputy Police Chief Frank Fernandez said officers might, for example, surround a bank building, check the IDs of everyone going in and out and hand out leaflets about terrorist threats.

WTF? That's insane. LKFJSFJSDLKFJSLKFJSLKFJ I really don't like it when I hear stuff that makes the conspiracists seem EXACTLY F_CKIN CORRECT.

I especially don't like that prisonplanet guy.

Highly Creepy, wait for the first time someone has a accident during this exercise. If their is one right we hold more dear as americans than our right to guns, it's our right to SUE. The Media will go nuts for the first granny that slips on and lands on her hip when Cops blitz a bank. Or what about the bank rent-a-cop who reacts badly to a bank being surrounded by armed men. Yeah, both those stories have Legs.

I expect the genius who implemented this will take early retirement for personal reasons right after ta settlement is reached.

I would like to see the formation of new militias who show random shows of force at local police stations. If police don't like it, they're free to stop doing it at hotels, and if they threaten the militias with harm, well, said militias just might have every right to defend themselves.

So wait, the recent 4 years of curbing civil rights and people still think there's a conspiracy out there?

Simple fact of the matter is that the government's plans have been plain to see for a long time now, just as Mein Kampf laid out the NDSAP's policies regarding the Jew.

On the plus side this seems to be on the local level rather than the federal level. In all honesty I have more faith in local police for my civil rights rather than ATF, DEA, FBI. Before everyone explodes and quotes Rodney King, let me explain. Local Police, Sheriffs, and Constables have more training and held to a tougher standards when it comes to civil rights than say a national guardsman or ATF agent. Also the average citizen has better recourse through the media and civil law against local law enforcement than on the federal level. Like I said before in my earlier post wait till the first accident happens then watch asses get kicked to the curb. Local Law Enforcement can't wrap itself around the Patriot Act like the Natl' Guard, FBI, Or ATF. The only loophole I see in this surfaced was back in blackwater private security personel (Mercs) were brought in to New Orleans and deputized.

On the flip side what we should really worry about is "Federalization" of troops. Remember Hurricane Andrew back in 1992 and in Oklahoma City in 1995 when the National Guard was brought in to restore order, or after 9/11 when troops were standing in Airports with M-16's and 9mm Beretta on their hips. Well, those meanacing troops were standing around with UNLOADED weapons because of federalization. Federalization states it is Illegal to "Lock and load" on American Citizens. I remember after the first month in Downtown Oklahoma City, National Guardsman were replaced by Armed Federal Marshals patrolling downtown.

Here is the Rub, remember back in September the goverment could not be mobilized fast enough for in New Orleans? The fallout from Katrina from democrats, republicans, the media and all the folks in the superdome was: George Bush you dragged your ass on restoring law and order and this can never happen again! Well that was due to Bush's respect for Federalization which is to allow states and local municpalities not to be overun by the Goverment. Ok media, dems, repubs, and citizens-you asked for it!-Federalization will be lifted so the nanny state can help you out.

Is there any doubt they are building up this police state for the comming economic collapse and the chaos it will cause?

In my thinking the government has known about peak oil for a long time. Lot longer than any of us on this board.

And they have a plan in place and its not a plan that we are going to like at all. I remember reading something about FEMA concentration camps. I don't doubt they will use them in some kind of peak oil induced catastrophe.

Better than militia, get some drama majors for a little Gureilla theater a la PETA style. Can you imagine a bunch of college kids "appear" dressed like arab-americans handing out copies of the constitution?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PrairieMule', 'O')n the plus side this seems to be on the local level rather than the federal level.

The thing that gets me is that this is accepted at the local level now... at least, in Miami...

That's what sort of blows me away.

I also think that at least a few people signed off on this and said: "A-Ok, that's what we're going to do seargent!" or "Good Idea, Mr. Underling, let's get a 'series of actionable items' and make sure you tell the media as well."

No one said, "Hey, isn't that a bit fascist?" or "Hey, isn't that like, just a waste of resources - we're doing more to put on show than to actually do something? Maybe, we should concentrate on drugs, gangs, or corporate crime?"

Seriously. It boggles my mind.

As far as I'm concerned, the troops (and mercs) were not needed at all - but that could be because I didn't hear of any violence. FEMA didn't do its job. Blockading aid into the area was A VERY PERVASIVE STORY ON EVERY LEVEL. The fact seems to be that the orders were for the first week or so was to not let any aid in and to keep anybody who didn't have a car in. It was like it was opposite week for them or something...

An amateur conspiracist could easily weave a story of intent instead of incompetence very, very easily... unfortunately.

...

Especially since the stories and complaints on the ground were about blockading of aid while the political story was about the need for federal troops (to parade in their vehicles and M-16's or whatever asking for people to leave their homes. Something that the FEMA guys, volunteers, and/or local police could easily do. Or for 'violence' of which there may or may not have been a shot fired at a helicopter. A helicopter is noticibly loud so that story is HIGHLY unlikely...)

I don't keep up with that prisonplanet guy because he's generally damn crazy. But, I'm not surprised if he used at least some of the crap that went on there for his conspiracies..

God damn it all. I want "Energy efficiency fascism", not fascism in general.

I think that this is most likely a local idiot trying to pull off a political stunt to get reelected.

Still it does boggle the mind why someone would think that this a good idea.
Surround a bank? To prevent terrorism? What the?

If the Brown Shirts storm in with drawn AR-17s and start confiscating peoples shotguns I will be the first to admit I was wrong. That is if our new overlords want me to say that.
