$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('ClassicSpiderman', 'C')ultural conservatives lament the fact that in most industrialized countries, political support for abortion is about 60% to 80%. They surmise, 'How could societies which believe in killing their offspring survive?'
Well to put it succinctly, they don't. Just like when the Mayans sacrificed their young to their Gods in the last throes of their civilization, the West is treading the same path in the name of consumerism.
How can abortion be a good thing, then?
It's fairly simple, actually. Those who believe in legalized abortion are much less likely to reproduce than those who do not. Those who don't believe in abortion are generally fundamentalist Christians and/or Muslims. One only has to look at the birthrates of places like Utah and Palestine to see how "God" (real or imagined) rewards those who love children--the future is theirs.
If two yuppie, liberal parents kill a 'useless fetus', a form of natural
selection takes place that basically renders them genetically obsolete. Meanwhile, the "pro-lifers" are fruitful, multiply and eventually take over. Think of the analogy of Christianity overtaking Rome or better yet, the modern equivalent of Islam taking over the fat, lazy, secular West.
Abortion is nature's way of getting rid of the genetic chaff--a sort of collective self-imposed suicide for it's adherents. Abortion is not the end of the world, it's the end of THEM.
Plot Summary for
Idiocracy (2006)
Joe Bauer, an Army librarian, is judged to be absolutely average in every regard, has no relatives, has no future, so he's chosen to be one of the two test subjects in a top-secret hibernation program. He and hooker Rita were to awaken in one years, but things go wrong and they wake up instead in 2505. By this time, stupid people have outbred intelligent people; the world is (barely) run by morons--and Joe and Rita are now the smartest people in America.
What will arrive first? Peak Oil or the Second Coming? My money is now on the latter.
