My research into peak oil and climate change leads me to believe that both, will a real sense of irony, will kick in at roughly the same time.
Climate change will shake the insurance industry to the core. And as insurance and oil are two of the pillars of our economy at present, I am certain we will see massive repucussions for the global economy.
But its not all doom and gloom! I believe it will lead to the rebirth of community.
But in order for that to happen, we must not only make a transition to a post peak oil world - we must also make the transition to a post peak economy (PPE) scenario.
To help make that transition I have set up a worldwide project called the freeconomy community whose raison d'etre is to help people make the transition to a world in which money no longer means security, but where a diverse skill base in a tightly knit community is seen as security.
Very interested to know your thoughts on this...
