$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('common_sense', 'I')t's been 2 years and my opinion hasn't changed.
Oil is not going to run out.
Simple fact is that we've done mostly land drilling, with some offshore drilling.
Even in this insane scenario we completely run out in twenty years, there is still the fact we can drill in the oceans.
Oh, right, you forgot about the oceans.
Further, you fail to take into account that in the next eight years we'll have viable alternative fuel sources.
Jesus Christ. I'm tired of this paranoid, end of the world crap. You folks are almost as bad as the nuclear war people.

There are alot of people hear who wish you were right. Most of them have understood all of the arguments and know that the theory is sound and that what we are witnessing is the onset of peak oil. I bet there are two hundred regulars here who could teach a college course in peak oil, and many of the people are actually professors of economics, psychology, geology, physics, math. We have financial experts. But we also have smart folks in general. Nobody here would miss a new ghawar sitting in the deep waters somewhere.
I admit some of us are anarchists (not me) but some. Some are psychopathic shut-ins. Hey, it's the Internet. Buy in large though this site has been a major part of a growing movement and I think it will continue to be so for some time to come.
Unless they clip the wires and haul us all off to FEMA camps that is.
Lighten up dude! There is no reason for you to stalk the site like a hungry wolf unless you think that somehow we are causing the signs we are telling you are caused by peak oil. In which case we are much more powerful than I thought. I am going to be expecting a stipend from Goldman Sachs here very shortly.
I'm responding because I don't think we need to respond to posts like this at all. I'll go the extra mile with you. Name your points of contention one at a time and I will answer them using the best that we know (as far as I know, others may jump in with better info if they wish.)
I return to you now at the turning of the tide.
