$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('DomusAlbion', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PenultimateManStanding', 'H')ow do we know when the end comes? Here's how we know. One day the internet is down. We go to the phones and they don't work either. We wait, maybe we try rebooting our computers. Nothing works. that's when we panic.

Hey Pent, I think you left out a few steps between no internet, no phone and panic. How about walking outside and talking to your neighbors, or getting in your car and driving to your town center. :-D

Domus, that actually happened to me last night - server crashed, went to use the phone and it wasn't working either, so I watched the old movie Bonnie and Clyde. Couldn't it happen that way though? Everything seems to be holding up and then wham, one day the internet is just gone? Maybe it's cyber warfare, maybe it's our own elites getting us psyched out for the coup. Regarding "getting out" I'm half deaf so I don't mix much.

Americans aren't. Neither are you.

Surely you realize that the American people really have had no say in who they "elect" to office in decades. Two sides to the same coin in other words.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Kingcoal', 'T')he US is the root of all evil? Where is the support for your position?

If you're seriously interested in answering that, I would start with On the Justice of Roosting Chickens by Ward Churchill. ISBN: 1902593790 It does a pretty good job of cataloguing the hundreds of illegal wars the United States has started with other nations. A Little Matter of Genocide: Holocaust and Denial in the Americas, 1492 to the Present ISBN: 0872863239 by the same author does a good job of detailing their genocide against the Indian nations.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Kingcoal', 'S')ince the US emerged as a world power, the world has seen the most fantastic explosion of scientific development and improvement in living conditions in all of history.

There was a guy named Hitler who use to say the same thing about Germany.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Kingcoal', ' ')The number, frequency and impact of wars went down almost as drastically..

That is laughably inacurate. As a small demonstration, try and name three countries that the United States has never invaded or stationed troops in. I've tried and have been unsuccessful so far.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Kingcoal', ' ')Did the US start WW2?

Funny you should ask. Turns out there are a lot of people that think that the US government intentionally goaded Japan into war. http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig/trask1.html It is also documented that a number of American Industrialists, including the Shrub's granfather Prescott Bush, aided Hitler in his rise to power. The "science" of Eugenics which spawned the death camps, was born and nurtured for decades in Cold Springs Harbor, New York. It was funded by the Harriman, Carnegie, Rockefeller, and Vanderbilt railroad fortunes for decades before it was exported to Germany. The Hollerith machines (primative computers) that Hitler used to catalogue the population and decide who should go to the death camps...were made by IBM.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Kingcoal', 'M')aybe you should give up "this computer thing" and do some reading.

Back at ya.

I'll admit that I don't have all the answers.

I'll also say that a lot of Americans feel the same way that you do. We sure as hell don't like our names dragged through the mud......especially by one retarded cowboy from Texas. It feels as though there are two sides massing and then everyone else is being sucked into the whirlwind.

I guess the answer is to surround yourself with people that you trust completely, with your life, and then start laying as low as possible. I'm really hesitant to pick sides because you never know who will label you "a person of interest". I try to live my life by following the code of Bushido. It's not easy, but anything worth having is never easy.

Yes, you're right, war doesn't distinguish........but nationalism isn't the answer either. That's gotten more than one country into trouble in the past. I'd like to think that I can learn something from everyone and that people are, in general, good; however, when you start throwing in ignorance, fear, and greed into the equation you've got some trouble. Many Americans feel that this (ignorance, fear, and greed) defines our government more than anything else and it's frustrating because we can see it destroying the rest of the world and that it not what the Founding Fathers had intended America to be.

Keep the masses distracted by sports, material crap, and the worst drug: television while they take away our liberties. No one will care until it's too late. We're starting to see the beginning of the end too.

The real irony is that people of other countries probably have more say in who they put in power than the U.S. "Republic" does. Man, that's irony at its finest.

Well, in my opinion, I dont see any threat from the US. But things can change quickly. Although I will admit in the last few years they are giving the rest of the world a lot to think about.

I dont think they will push it too far, they're not all that strong when you think about it.

We can't play policeman granted, but we sure can kick some ass in battle. Even though our dumbass president is a puppet, just look at him he even looks like howdy doody. I think the worlds perception of America is GWB IMO a poor example of a leader. Afganistan was a go, Iraq is a dud!

Actually I could do without you, Ailrickon. But I like to have a contrasting opionion. If we all think alike and act alike and look alike then we would all get confused.

I still respect your right to say what you want, within some limits. These being the ones that do apply to all here. You can call me names all you want. Don't care.

I do like the different points of view. I do want to know what others think about the world situation. I have even been doing some reflecting on my own beliefs.

Your Catholic!? Are you sure or were you just raised that way.

And it's not as if I don't have plenty of criticism of my own country either. But when someone goes spouting the Hate America line, it really pushes my nationalism button pretty hard.

I think what's going to happen over the next 4 years is the present administration is going to muddle through cleaning up some of the messes it made overseas, and then try and largely fail to make a bunch more messes domestically (e.g. social security, Jim Crow marriage amendment, tax-cut and spend neo-con cronyism), and then we'll see what happens in 2008.

But before anyone starts lobbing WMDs over the fence at us, keep in mind that approximately half of us voted for a change of administration.

Meanwhile, the haters keep on hating, and not much is going to change the imbalance of serotonin and dopamine in their tortured brains.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Ailrickson', '
')However, war does not distinguish. I agree that many americans are against ther countrie's warfare as much as the rest of the world. Up to you to make a difference. Stage a protest, or something? Or if all else is hopeless or fails - move out of the US.

We could stage protests but they wouldn't make the mainstream media (all owned by five companies). Large groups of people have protested but this misguided administration has labeled them as "irrelevant". With the technology that our government has to spy on people and monitor their every movement it's also a good way to get your name on a list.....a person of interest, that is (which is also highly unconstitutional).

What scares the hell out of me is this: the push to monitor American citizens in the name of the "War on Terrorism". The correlation between the Patriot Act(s) and Hitler's Enabling Act is extremely frightening. I mean all one has to do is change a few words (ex. Homeland to Fatherland) and you have set the stage for pre-WWII Germany all over again. What also scares me is the only option that looks plausible is getting the hell out of the country. With weapons technology as advanced as it is now, there is no where to hide.........except maybe in the shadow of the giant.

Too many Americans are distracted by shiny things (material crap, fashion trends, and television) to really care how many civil liberties are being taken away; however, I also think that 9/11/01 did wake-up a large amount of people into questioning everything that their government has been doing. The real question: is there enough time for enough people to wake-up to do something about P.O. and its consequences?

No one is really what they seem to be on the internet. And if anyone believes different, they're the modern day dumbasses of the world!

I kinda see a civil war in the states, I dont know how realistic this is, but seems to be growing diferences of opinion, and despertaion and high stakes all over.

I'll take care of my yard, and the hell with the rest!

Ailrickon,
First your a guest, then you write about what you wrote as a guest then your a guest again.

I guess you were trying to prove you are not who you seem to be.

Ailrickson, guest, Ailrickson77, Ailrickon you are one and the same. Why do you write in response to yourself. Is this the same as talking to yourself? Of course it is. Be careful. The men with the white lab coats are getting closer!

Isn't that what Sible would say.

I'm not me. I'm Guest. Do you actually get up and change seats? I'm not him. I'm Me now. In an 8 minute time frame you(s) changed seats at least 2 times. Or is this a Dr Jeckle Mister Hyde thing going on.

Their coming to take me away! ha ha he he ha ha

Do you get up and walk around your chair or just spin around and become 'guest'. Ha ha he he ha ha their coming to take you away ha ha he he ha ha

Seriously, Ailrickon, do you ever say. This is me or I'm me or I'm me right now, etc. etc.
Peace out!
