I Sweden there is a special gouverment organisation "kronofogden" that have the rigth to sease property. They are however unarmed but if need arise they can be assisted by the police. Some yeras ago two of them were shot to death by someone who decied that he wanted to keep the things they were there to collcet. So, he was armed, they were not, but in the end he was no better of nor was anyone else.

I was heavily involved with bailiffs (by that I mean against) when the anti - poll tax protests were in full flow. They've always acted heavy with people, but when the community acted collectively against them they struggled to collect. Guidelines made them act a bit more responsibly, but it looks like the govt is intending to let them off the leash. With increasing debt, it could get interesting in British working class areas, especially as many of the people they will be trying to collect from could well be amongst the few people in the UK who are armed in any way.

And by the way, there is a lot of leagle wepons in sweden. Hunting is big here, and there is a lot of big game to hunt. If you leave the cities and get out on the contryside riefls are preatty common.

According to wiki answers there are 52 million households in America with guns, I would say it is a very tall order for our government to ever attempt to subdue 52 million gun owners with a 2.5 million man army. I'd say when push comes to shove we are pretty well protected from the authorities here.

Bravado aside, I had a legal machine gun when the sheriff came to take my property. I did not shoot him. I knew the deputy. He was a man doing his job. I simply handed him the business card of my bankruptcy attorney and stopped the whole mess. The world has got to become a far stranger place before I will kill a man over some used furniture and clothing.
