the new doctor who really impressed me... seems to be the perfect show right now. as an aside i'm looking forward to the entertainment response to peak oil in music and film

the end of the world episode was classic who i thought.

Me too, put shivers up my spine.

So far v impressed with whole thing.

Stupid Boast: and I saw the first episode in 1963!

But I'm pretty hacked off with Chris Ecclestone: quitting right away, that's not fair.

Alright,as a Yank,I must say I am very disgruntled!!!!!

As a child I used to watch reruns of the old Dr. Who series faithfully every night on channel 8 at six o'clock.How come nobody told me they were bringing back a sci-fi classic ???!!!???!!! And why isn't it being aired here in the states??? How depressing.

Oh well,on the bright side,the sci-fi channell is making all new episodes of Battlestar Galactica(not as good as I'd hope it would be though).

I just hope P.O. doesn't destroy civilisation before I have a chance to see the final episode of Star Wars

If any of you can tell me how I can veiw the new Dr. Who series here on the other side of the pond please let me know.

Was V. young when it was transmitted. Info point - the whole thing was so vivid because some US president got shot :shock:

and all the adults were acting strangely.

So the TV was forgotten about.

My memory was that the BBC showed it again the next week and that was the one I saw.

After many years I began to doubt that - but I met a Who fan who told me that was correct.

BastardSquad: I'm sure it will be coming to the US soon: both episodes I've seen have been really great, and they've buried the bad old Sylvester McCoy days. Apparently there are pirate copies of the first episode floating around the internet to download. So you may want to look into that, although I prefer to watch on TV. In preparation for hiding behind the sofa,

Incidentally it was the Zarbi that terrified me, not the Daleks so much. Seem to remember having to plead with my mum to let me see the next episode as she thought it was doing me damage.

Another truly great episode! (Trying to avoid SPOILERS below)

Set during WW2 in London during the Blitz, Rose meets smoothy intergalactic criminal Captain Jack Harkness.....v. sinister mutant children around.....

Dialogue tremendous - watched it twice and picked up new things second time around, the production team obviously have watched Buffy and mingle in romance, wit and character development along with the thrills.

I am certain that those of you not in the UK will get to see it soon as the series is of such high quality it is bound to get bought by every TV channel with any sense. I think that it is the quality of writing , character development and acting that makes it work. The special effects are good, but not totally brilliant, so there's still a mite of disbelief suspension there.

PS if the mutant children don't scare you, then I think you have already had your mind taken over by an alien force....
