This is number 4 now, but someday soon it should be number 1:

4. "Toto, I've got a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore," "The Wizard of Oz," 1939.

numbers 9 and 29 are pretty good, too, as peak oil related type quotes.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '"')The stuff that dreams are made of," "The Maltese Falcon," 1941.
This is actually quoting Shake-speare's "The Tempest."

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'P')rospero: ... We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and our little life
Is rounded with sleep.

Also, I didn't realize Elizabeth Taylor's character Martha, in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe, " is quoting "Beyond the Forest" with that line WHAT A DUMP.

My own personal favorite comes from John Waters' "Female Trouble":

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'G')ator: Come over here, Taffy, and suck your daddy's ----

Taffy: I WOULDN'T SUCK YOUR LOUSY ---- IF I WAS SUFFOCATING AND THERE WAS OXYGEN IN YOUR B-LLS!
Peak oil = comet Kohoutek.

These should be in the top 100 -

From the only movie worth watching … ‘Full Metal Jacket’ --- well except for ‘Goodfellas’ and ‘Braveheart’

Private Joker: The dead know only one thing: it is better to be alive.

-------

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman to Private Gomer Pyle: What is your major malfunction, numbnuts? Didn't Mommy and Daddy show you enough attention when you were a child?

-----

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: When you two pukes are done here, I want you to clean the head.
Joker and Cowboy: Sir, yes, sir.
Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: I want that head so sanitary and squared-away that the Virgin Mary herself would be proud to go in and take a dump.
If ...'If's' and 'But's' ... were Candy and Nuts ... we would all be happy and fat !

Max: So, what's the plan?
Pigkiller: [laughing] PLAN? There ain't no plan!

I don't know if this is the best quote of all time, but this memorable quote from the Mad Max movie, Beyond Thunderdome, should certainly be on the top 100 list.

I like this quote from "Armageddon" by Rockhound:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')ey Harry, you know we're sitting on four million pounds of fuel, one nuclear weapon and a thing that has two hundred thousand moving parts built by the lowest bidder. Makes you feel good doesn't it?

From another list of quotes :)

I can think of many other quotes from Full Metal Jacket. Unfortunately my husband has watched that movie so much that my oldest son calls his little brother "Private Snowball"

Episode 3 of Star Wars is worth seeing just for this one quote:

Another good one:

GEN. GEORGE PATTON: "Now, I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country."

The all-time most quotable movie has to be Casablanca. Other quotes from this movie: 'Of all the gin joints in the world, she walks into mine'. And my personal favorite: 'I'm shocked! skocked to find that there is gambling going on in here!. . . Here's your winnings sir' Of course the othe three mentioned in this article were good too.
