The first video above actually uses the phrase "those peak oil nuts" but then pretty much acknowledges the probable truth of the theory.

It will be a cold comfort to be saying "I told you so"

There is no comfort either none, humans stupidly carry on business as usual.

As yet there is only the early stages of price discomfort for the wealthiest citizens on the planet.

So, do you guys get that "peak oil nuts" are not considered kooky because of the actual peak oil theory - but because of their reaction to this theory?

Seriously, do you get that?

It's not so much about oil production flatlining or depleting, but the endless paranoia that has been tacked on to it. "A deep red gloom is upon us...", "We know not the endless pain that will be our lives..." - it sounds fucking crazy, and a bit retarded. It does. This is how nutjobs react to threats.

The end is always, always upon us. It's human existence. This is the history our species. We adapt. See the situation, and react accordingly.

Everyone on here should have made a killing off this by now... $.

I wonder if those who only care about making money off of others' misery will survive long post-peak ...

Doubtful.

It's all very simple
People tell lies all the time
But the actual price of oil never lies

Two years of steadily increasing price without increase in production.
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.

The thing that bugs me is that even though there is some recognition of the peak oil problem, the reporters don't seem to be willing to ask the obvious follow up questions.

Expert: It's true, we're going to have to address the fact that we'll have diminishing oil production

Journalist: So, do you prefer shotguns or handguns to fight off the zombie hordes?

Expert: Um, err... I don't really think that is appropriate

Journalist: You cornucopians make me sick. You're worst than Hitler

(etc)

you probably overestimated with "children"there. Emperor Avgvstvs, for example, had 5-6 kids and a whole bunch of grandkids, however his bloodlline was gone in 40 years after his death.
