Re: US funds back Iran petrochemical projects

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('roccman', '[')url=http://www.bangkokpost.com/topstories/topstories.php?id=125648]US Congressmen have discovered that the World Bank is using US-provided funds to insure two giant Thai firms which have bucked the trend and invested in a huge petrochemical project in Iran.[/url]

What a scam.
Yeah, Iran is not in any Congressional pork barrel so the funds won't buy any votes and there's not much opportunity for Congressmen to score kickbacks or "contributions" :P

I have recently updated my website on “Thai Mass Transport Systems” This site covers a wide range of different kinds of mass transport from Thailand in Asia. It can be visited at http://thaitransit.blogspot.com

The new topics are
-SRT: The Mahachai Rail Yard. link
-SRT: The Mahachai line a trip from Bang Bon to Mahachai. link

I hope you find the pictures and vehicles shown to be of interest if you view this please post some comments and feelings about the pictures. Have a look it might give you an insight into other ways of providing mass transport.

I just got back from Thailand last week. They sure need mass transportation in a bad way. Even with all the mopeds and Baht taxis pollution and traffic are terrible.

It took me 3 hours to go from Pattaya to Bangkok (100 mi) in Friday Traffic.
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Kop khun krap for this Thai update. I'm half Thai myself from my Mom's side with me being a Vietnam War baby. I've been to Thailand only twice, sad to say. My older brother who was born in Ubon is considering fleeing there ASAP as he thinks that he will be safer in further global down turn because of the friendly people and thier ability to live with very little. He may have the right idea.

Yes I think so too, but I do think bangkok could be an awful place after a couple of days long power outage.

Out in the sticks though, if you can fit in in some way I think it will be ok.
