Intellectual property rights are necessary to provide incentives for research, and to fund research.

If you take away intellectual property rights, the end result is that research will go way, way down, and that the research that continues will be hidden and generally not distributed.

The end result is a stagnant civilization.

China's just parasiting off of the rest of the world's innovation.

However, as the rest of the world becomes poor, and China becomes great, it too will suffer massive stagnation in research and innovation, and that big gigantic energy guzzling machine will come screeching to a halt, as it finds it more and more difficult to find power.

Make sure production is cheap and that everyone wants it.

As others have noted - plus be willing to work hard for a decade or two before returns come in.

Also - you will need funding. You need to think hard about how much your input is worth in the total scheme of things when seeking funding (remember Einstein - 1% inspiration 99% perspiration). And remember also that having a small percent of something big is better than a big percent of something small (IE: don’t give it all away, but don’t try to hold on so tight that you strangle it!)

Almost all of the time, you don't.

http://www.tinaja.com

Don Lancaster wrote all about the inventing racket, and racket it is - some, a very few, do make a few dinero. Most, as in almost all, don't.

I got a lot out of his Secret Money Machine book, he charges too much for it, but the principles in it are ones you need to digest if you're starting a small biz.

The most recent news about the CSC Inventors Club

Unread postby JoeCitizen » Tue 22 May 2007, 23:10:08

To the public,

In regards to any post or comment on the internet that may say this inventor is a crackpot or that, his invention is a fraud or a hoax.

I challenge you not to believe it before you have had a chance to talk to or email this man.

This invention is the real thing and needs to be in production as soon as possible!

I was courteous enough to have emailed him, before I posted anything to his website. He was generous enough to take the time and explain it to me in simple English and then he proved it to me using simple mathematics.

Some people might try to articulate that he is breaking all of the three Laws of Thermodynamics or any of the laws of physics by regurgitating different formulas from textbooks and excerpts that have been copied from some physics website.

Not only will he prove to you that he is not breaking any of the Three Laws of Thermodynamics or any of the other laws of physics. He can show you that it takes a unusual approach to see how these laws and rules apply to his invention and believe me he will be able to prove it to you.

The laws of physics are not set in stone here are three examples that prove this fact;

(1.) The string theory.
(2.) The presence of dark matter.
(3.) The existence of a black hole.

In fact the laws of physics appear as if they cannot be applied to any of these three examples in any general manner.

This man James Hunt should be a member of MENSA if he is not already.

He might just be too smart for them as well, and no I am not joking in anyway.

Well I'm bored so here's what I've found

CSC stands for Carl Sandburg College
http://www.sandburg.edu/

This is a west-central Illinois community college

James D. Hunt is a student there. He graduates this may.

He is 36 years old, a disabled veteran who served eight years in the Navy as I gather a jet mechanic.

As was pointed out he's the president and founder of this club.

Basically here's what his invention does. He creates hydrogen from electrolysis. The electrolysis is done via something called plasmatic induction. Looking around it seems that plasmatic induction is a term they've invented.

Carbon rods are used but there use is never explained. My best guess is as the anode and cathode in the elecrolysis. These are to be replaced yearly.

The elctricity comes from batteries and maybe solar panels.

The hydrogen is then burnt in a motor with the exhaust be collected and the water recaptured for use again.

The end result is theywrap all of this up in a package they say is the size of a gas tank and they hope to have a working test vehicle this summer.

I see nothing spectacular here and once the battery runs dry the system will stop. Make sure you get your investment checks to him early though.

Email him and ask him about the invention or at least read all of the articles.

Obviously you do not understand that a College President, and several instructors who hold PhDs not only encourage others to support this young man’s invention, but they also lend there own credibility to its viability as well. This is evidence in it self that this invention is worthwhile and not some trivial hoax.

Do you honestly believe that any educational institution would put itself at risk because of some get rich scheme?

To my understanding he is the one being approached by interested parties he is not soliciting anyone.

Coincidentally, you must assume that Fortune 500 corporations make habits of expressing repeated interest in any trivial invention as well.

Ok lets look at this from a different view. Lets assume that he has designed an engine that does run off of water and other then the carbon rod replacements requires no other inputs. It is the perfect replacement for the ICE. We'll build giant ones that instead of moving a vehicle turn generators and we have amazingly inexpensive electricity just as much as we'll ever require.

So we have everything we need for an energy utopia. So now what. Well You need to replace somewhere close to 1 billion vehicles in the world to start with. How large of a factory does he have and how fast can he pump these things out? Considering that we've already peaked I wouldn't say that we have long. Oh he doesn't have a factory yet that's right. How's his funding coming along? Oh no working prototype yet. I can't imagine the money is just pouring in.

So even if I ignore all of the little details about the device itself and just declair it to be working as desired it still amounts to nothing at this stage in the game. We're well past the time when technology could save us.

Hello all,

Yes I am new to this forum, but i have been interested in the topic for some time now.

In response to what was said about this CSC Inventor James Hunt.

Not meaning to insult anyone, but strider3700 your post was stupid.

If you had even attempted to read the articles that have been posted you would know at least some of the following facts about them instead of the assumptions you put in your post.

Facts

(1) Water covers more then 3/4 of this planet. Hydrogen is 2/3 water. Hydrogen will power an ICE as efficiently as gasoline without any pollution from emissions.

(2) He has Not designed an engine, his invention uses engines that are already in existence.

(3) The hydrogen gas is directly ported into the engine, providing the fuel needed to run an engine.

(4) They already have a working prototype they are in the process of installing it in the truck they purchased.

(5) The result is a system that can replace your fuel tank, needs very little maintenance and uses LPG or CNG gas technology to feed your engine as much hydrogen as it needs.

(6)He is the one being approached by interested parties willing to fund his Research and Development and help him to start his own company.

It seems if you would not be afraid and just like Joe Citizen said try to email him, This man James Hunt will explain it to you in really simple words.

Joe Citizen I believe that you’re the one person who might see the boon we could receive from this invention.

I am interested in this invention, the fact that it was developed by a veteran of our armed forces is even better because my brother is currently serving overseas I emailed him about it he thought it was the greatest idea ever and his reply for James Hunt was "Hey way to go guy, hurry up already the army could use it right now in all of our vehicles for sure!"

How much money from investors does Mr. Hunt and his community college need to build and prove up this wonderful invention?
