Re: Rep Kucinich Seeks to Impeach VP Cheney

He has no chance. It's only a move to draw attention.
Basically it's free positive publicity. He intentionally trys to do something he can't accomplish, but that if he did accomplish would make a lot of people happy.
This in turn has a chance of making people think that if he was in power, he would do things that they wanted him to do, because they think he thinks like them.

He knows he has no chance of getting elected, however if he can pull enough votes, he can possibly offer those votes to Hillary in exchange for some position of power within the government. Maybe the "Department of Peace". LoL
About the whole Elizabeth Kucinich, I think that being a pampered English woman(England is an insanely pro-feminist anti-male country, hence adding to her pamperedness, plus being hot, means that she's treated much better than she deserves, just for being attractive), she is probably drawn to a more socially idealistic full of ---- type of personality. You know the types, the kind that don't actually think anything through, but either pretend to have this great moral crusade which is going to save the world, or are so full of ---- that they actually believe that they can somehow modify human nature(think of communism) without drastic mutantegenic means, or physically violate laws of physics(modern economic paradigm/neoliberal economist ideology) rather than circumvent them and find loop holes.

The kind of turd that gets all kinds of praise from people left and right because of their "intentions", because people perceive them to have a good heart, regardless of how ineffective they are, or how much actual damage they do rather than helping the situation.
You know, the same kind of BS that got Bush elected...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')b]Move to Impeach Cheney Gains Support in Congress
Jan. 2, 2008, Salem-News (Oregon) by Tim King
SALEM, Ore. - A House Resolution to impeach U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney, Dennis Kucinich’s H.R. 799, is gathering more support. The national impeachment continues to grow and generate increasing interest since being referred to the House Judiciary Committee last month, a Kucinich spokesperson said.
As a member of that committee, Representative Robert Wexler and two other committee members, Luis Gutierrez and Tammy Baldwin, have joined together in demanding that the legal action against Cheney moves forward.
Congressman Robert Wexler of Florida is just one elected official who says the charges are too serious to ignore.
“There is credible evidence that the Vice President abused the power of his office, and not only brought us into an unnecessary war but violated the civil liberties and privacy of American citizens. It is the constitutional duty of Congress to hold impeachment hearings”
He went on to say that he believes Vice President Dick Cheney and the Bush Administration have demonstrated a consistent pattern of abusing the law and misleading Congress and the American people.
“We see the consequences of these actions abroad in Iraq and at home through the violations of our civil liberties,” Wexler said.
Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin, stated in August that published reports identify, “the Vice-President’s willful and repeated disregard for the rule of law, international treaties, environmental protections, and the common good.”
Wexler and Baldwin joined Congressman Luis Gutierrez in penning an Op-Ed that calls for committee hearings on a bill to impeach Dick Cheney on a variety of charges that include allegations of manipulating intelligence to boost the case for the war with Iraq, a very serious charge.
The Op-Ed that ran in the Philadelphia Enquirer December 27th (Impeach Cheney now- The allegations that he abused power are credible.) states, “The issues at hand are too serious to ignore, including credible allegations of abuse of power that if proven may well constitute high crimes and misdemeanors under our constitution.”
“The charges against Vice President Cheney relate to his deceptive actions leading up to the Iraq war, the revelation of the identity of a covert agent for political retaliation, and the illegal wiretapping of American citizens.”
House leaders and the leading Democratic presidential candidates don’t support impeachment. One thing they point to is the timeframe and expense that surrounded the impeachment proceedings against President Clinton, citing how the business of politics in the U.S. ground to a near standstill as the nation’s attention was diverted by the effort to expose the President over a sex act with a White House intern. Gutierrez saying hearings, “need not tie up Congress for a year and shut down the nation.”
The White House, in a statement, said Democrats were shirking responsibilities on issues such as childrens’ [sic] health insurance “and yet they find time to waste an afternoon on an impeachment vote against the vice president. … This is why Americans shake their head in wonder about the priorities of this Congress.”
But Kucinich and Wexler and others in Congress say they won’t be swayed as they utilize an existing arm of the Democratic system to see that impeachment proceedings are brought forward against the elected leader of out nation’s second highest political office.

Maybe this can work just like the 1970's:

1 - Impeach the VP (Cheney).
2 - Replace the VP with a human
2 - Go after impeachment of the president (Bush).

But, it has to be in this order.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')b]McGovern is calling for Bush and Cheney to be impeached. January 6, 2008
WASHINGTON (CNN) – George McGovern, the Democratic Party's 1972 nominee for president, is calling on Congress to impeach President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.
And in an editorial in Sunday's Washington Post, McGovern writes the case for impeaching the current president is "far stronger" than the case made against former President Richard Nixon — the man who soundly defeated McGovern in the general election match up.
"Bush and Cheney are clearly guilty of numerous impeachable offenses," McGovern writes. "They have repeatedly violated the Constitution. They have transgressed national and international law. They have lied to the American people time after time.
"Their conduct and their barbaric policies have reduced our beloved country to a historic low in the eyes of people around the world," he continued.
McGovern, a former three-term senator who ran for president on a fiercely anti-war platform, also called the administration's policy in Iraq a "a murderous, illegal, nonsensical war" in violation of international law.
"This reckless disregard for life and property, as well as constitutional law, has been accompanied by the abuse of prisoners, including systematic torture, in direct violation of the Geneva Conventions of 1949," he added.
But McGovern acknowledged there is little bipartisan support for an impeachment effort, blaming "superficial partisanship" among Republicans, and a "a lack of courage and statesmanship on the part of too many Democratic politicians."

If Neil Young really wants to sing about impeaching the president he'll have to write a song about impeaching Rep. Nancy Pelosi (dem-CA) first....she's the Speaker of the House and she's the one blocking the impeachment resolution in the house. :)

Is there really any difference between Canada and the us. In my opinion we are fairly well the same country anyway. We have so many mutual agreements for just about everything, that we might as well join together to create the north American union. I just want to leave out Mexico. Preferably nuke Mexico
