This isn't really news to anyone.
I'm just surprised that the top execs own ANY of the company at this point. I don't understand why they didn't sell out once the company entered its death spiral in 2004-2005.
Why would you hang on to shares in a worthless company?
The true value of General Motors was roughly negative $141 a share at the end of 2008. Mind you, they've lost a lot of money since then and their assets (factories, patents, surplus steel) have likely depreciated.

I don't care how many Volts they sell. You just can't fill a hole that deep. And they have to do more than fill it. If the company had a net value of zero, the shares would still be worthless. They have to earn 86 billion and then some.
