I found the kind of car I want. Here it is:

If Ford could make cars like this again, but power them with electricity they might make it through another century. Here's one we're working on that's exactly the same size as the original Model T:

Called "the world's greatest tech humour site" by The Register, BBspot creates entertainment for the geekier side of the world. BBspot produces a variety of features like fake news stories satirizing the tech and political worlds, the BBspot Mailbag which pokes fun at the Believers (people who believe our fake news) and much more. BBspot was started by Brian Briggs in April of 2000 as a hobby to bring some fun to the web, but grew to the point where Brian "quit his day job" and made the site his full-time occupation in January of 2003.

Ford-Profits up, but considering sales and stocks falling

Unread postby Ferretlover » Thu 26 Jul 2007, 12:01:25

The automaker said it's examining the sale of Jaguar and Land Rover ``in greater detail'' after receiving preliminary bids last week. Ford didn't identify bidders for the U.K. luxury brands.
The company also said it's conducting a ``strategic review'' of Sweden-based Volvo that it expects to complete before the end of 2007.

The best way to describe fords last quarter is something like
" Ford prevents 197 million dollar loss by cannabilizing itself"

The only reason it made a profit was because it sold Austin Martin for $924 million.

Ford,shmord-they're all destined for extinction sooner rather than later, they just don't know it yet.

Ford’s plan: Cut operating costs by $5 billion

Unread postby Ferretlover » Thu 24 Jan 2008, 10:39:24

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '[')b]Automaker will shrink workforce by one-third, launch revamped lineup
DETROIT - Ford’s top officials were jolted this summer when they realized that their business model was not only outdated but a threat to the existence of the nation’s second-largest automaker.
On Friday, they tried to shift Ford back to the future, announcing a dramatic acceleration of job cuts and other restructuring moves designed to shrink the company from a manufacturing behemoth into a sleeker, more competitive business.
Ford plans to slash 10,000 additional white-collar jobs and offer early retirement and buyout packages to all of its 75,000 hourly workers. …

Ford loses US$2.8B in 4Q

Unread postby sciencegirl » Thu 24 Jan 2008, 15:54:56

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')y Dee-Ann Durbin, The Associated Press:
DEARBORN, Mich. - Ford Motor Co. has narrowed its losses in the fourth quarter amid continued weakness in North America, says the outlook for U.S. sales in 2008 remains grim and is making more U.S. employee buyout offers to cut costs.

Ford is offering buyouts to its 54,000 U.S. hourly workers, CEO Alan Mulally said. Mulally said salaried cuts will also be made, mostly through attrition. The company will also adjust production schedules as demand sags
Time to kiss those jobs goodbye

Yep Henry Ford, the Nazi, brought in the $5 a day pay, effectively double what any other car plant was paying. But now he's dead and Ford's owned by the moneychangers.

R.I.P. Ford. And R.I.P. the old American economy.

All those people out of work and not likely to ever get new jobs may be a good group to get into urban/suburban farming, ELP, etc. Does anyone have any plans for outreach to these people?

Fnord is actually a joke. Steve Jackson makes games about the Illuminati and calls Ford; Fnord.

It was something I'm sure only few would have understood. :P
