The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

that 5th link down is one of the most poorly written pieces of drivel i have ever read. he doesn't even provide any evidence other than saying that "believers in peak oil are a bunch of left wing environmentalist whackos and PO must be false because not all experts agree on it." lol

Well, at least they're not doom and gloomers. We can't have that, now, can we?

 Me? A left wing environmentalist wacko?!
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.

From Charles Featherstone:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I')n millennialist language, these people say that the human race is on the verge of a massive turning point because oil is nearly depleted.

He hasn't a clue to what peak oil really means -- does he.

From David McGowen:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he message is quite clear: "we're running out of oil soon; there is no alternative; we're all screwed." And this isn't, mind you, just an energy problem; as Ruppert has correctly noted, "Almost every current human endeavor from transportation, to manufacturing, to plastics, and especially food production is inextricably intertwined with oil and natural gas supplies."

Another one without a clue.

I probably could do this for all the sites.

I think we need to educate these people on what PO really implies. Namely that oil is going
to be harder to extract, and demand will keep climbing -- outpacing production.

Evil isn't that stupid, it just isn't.

Evil doesn't have to be stupid, only the people reading it.

Matt Simmons was on CNBC today.

They had someone from the Cambridge Engergy Institue (I think) as his "opponent".

This guy predicted oil back in the thirties with projects coming online that would mean another 18 million a day. He sited the 1 million barrel pipeline that just opened as proof.

When Ron asked Matt about it. Matt said he couldn't disagree more.

Off to commercial. end o seg.

I get tired of all this drivel. And as things get worse we're going to see lots more, I think.

I personally revel in the title of "Left-wing environmentalist whacko". But I think it might offend some of our members :) And they're the ones with the guns! I hope Dennis Kane has kevlar panties on :-)
