The Day The Clown Cried

Unread postby AlexdeLarge » Wed 04 Feb 2009, 14:53:44

"When you rule by fear, laughter is the most frightening sound in the world."

I have never been a big Jerry Lewis fan, but this sounds like a powerful film.

Image

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he infamous "lost" film of Jerry Lewis, which was buried due to a
legal dispute between him and the writers of the original screenplay. It tells the story of a self-centered circus clown, Helmut Doork, who is sent to a concentration camp after a drunken impersonation of Hitler. There, he befriends the Jewish children of the camp, and performs for them, angering the camp Commandant. He is accidentally sent with the children on a train to Auschwitz, and there, he is expected to lead the children, like a Pied Piper, to the gas chambers.

Alex
Does this refer to so many of us laughing OAO with the new president's stumbling and bumbling? His lack of experience and leadership skills, or some other occasion?

Thank you very much mos. I can hang that with the other 5 diplomas on my wall now.
ADD, I've been listening to the constant whine of nut jobs like you, now I get to point out the failings of one who should never have been nominated by his party.

I've long wondered what informed your right wing zealotry.

The choice, prior to current fleecing of the well-off by the free market Wall Street managers, was either between self-interest or stupidity.

In light of the above Wall Street fiasco, I most definitely cannot blame self-serving motives.

We nominated him. You are now a member of the loyal opposition.

We were not too thrilled about George Bush as the nominee of your party. Then we lived through 8 years of the kleptocracy.

Fortunately we are now ready to move on.

So the inference being? Fishman is a dimbulb? A thick carrot? A dimwit? A blockhead, chump, clod, dolt, dullard, dummkopf, dummy, dunce, numskull, thickhead?

If so, I gotta agree. :)

These people confound me.

They've bullied America and the world into bankruptcy and now have the CHEEK to point the finger of ridicule and blame at those who are trying to clear up the fuck up they have lumbered generations with.

I say bring back the guillotine!

Fishman and Mos fighting. I love it.

Well let me help reunite you two Zs.

The gas chambers were a myth, as was most of the official story of the Jews in WWII.

There you go, now kiss and make up.

Wow. This thread sure did go off topic! LOL

I posted this because it was, to me, an interesting bit of film trivia and sounded like it would have been a great movie if it ever made it to the big screen.

I expected a few comments from the Antisemites, Jew hating , Holocaust deniers................but jeeze!
