T.E.D. Energy Monitor alternatives

My energy company TXU is no longer offering these house energy monitors for "free"....

Does anyone know of cheaper alternatives to this device?

I would prefer one with a computer interface.

It would be cool to store continuous log data to a drive, and set up a system that would scroll the data real-time on a home theater PC.

I keep clicking this link thinking it is about the TED lecture series they video record each year ;)

Did you ever find an alternative TJ?
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Alfred Tennyson', 'W')e are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I've not researched it yet. It's on my "to-do" list for this winter. I will report back here what I find.

My fall to-do list includes...

- Move daughter to Austin (did yesterday)
- Replace clicking CV joints in Honda Accord
- Replace air conditioner blower motor in Honda Accord
- Rebuild privacy fence
- Blow extra foot of insulation into my father's attic
- Replace brake pads on Honda CR-V
- Replace brake hyperlights on motorcycle
- Cut down and burn 30 meter tall pine trees in yard

No rest for the wicked! :)
