Headlines
The US Supreme Court this year declared it is OK for government to
endorse religion.
They also declared
unlimited spending by the richest citizens to influence elections is the American Way.
A Senate report concluded the CIA under Bush tortured, lied - no one noticed or cared because hey, "I'm not a terrorist."
Of course many of those tortured weren't terrorists either.
And contrary to the headlines on PO.com, Ebola didn't off the humans, ISIS didn't invade New York, Pooty Poot didn't nuke Cleveland and Cali didn't evaporate.
Not quite a headline but in 2004 I guessed oil production decline would begin within ten years - 10 years of course was 2014. Do I get half credit since the substance formerly known as oil and now goes by the name "conventional" did begin decline?
No? Then how about this; 2015 will see the top of the US LTO and non-OPEC increase. Not decline yet but not the 1.9mbd LTO increase of 2014 - the IEA says the increase will be a little over 1mbd. Nothing to sneeze at but still below average demand increase. Not sure what will happen after the peak of the peak oil (LTO).
Speaking of which, the global economy is forecast to grow less than one percent too so prices will stay low - maybe not $50 but not over $100 either.

The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.
-- Abraham Lincoln, Fragment on Government (July 1, 1854)
