Yesterday, and again today,I've noticed the Internet connection is ver slow. Sometime timing out. I seemed to have the same issue at work, on my DSL, or on a Verizion cell connection.

Anyone else notice the same thing? Symptom of the system suffering an attack of some sort?

Not really an attack, just something that happens in the last two weeks of every calendar quarter, especially Q4. I think it is related to end-of-quarter online purchasing.

Capitalism requires constant growth of revenues, and when that doesn't happen for 2-3 quarters, you go through one of those "new boss" cycles, unfortunately it only takes about a year now to activate the Boss's golden parachute and make him rich for life.

I saw the cycle complete eleven times in a 36 year corporate career. It didn't change when online purchasing surpassed door-to-door salesmen, mail order catalogs disappeared, and Usenet became the WWWeb.
