$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Oneaboveall', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('argyle', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Oneaboveall', 'F')unny thing is that I've been reading a lot lately about Santa and the different myths that countries have regarding him. Did you know that in the Netherlands, Santa comes around Christmas time every year from Spain by boat and his helpers are all black slaves?

BTW, I'm not making this up.

Also Santa may come from Christian tradtions, but he's popular in China ("The Old Man of Christmas") and Japan ("Santa Kurohsu").

Wrong.. this is not Santa Claus.. it's Sinter Klaas..

Granted, but I still thing it's awesome that he lives in Spain since my family's from there.

What is really funny is that most of our rituals (like sinter, halloween, Christmas etc) are based of pagan beliefs, but all dates were conveniently used to convert them into Christian rituals/feasts) to facilitate/ease assimilation.

Although I'm Christian/Catholic I find this very funny.. one wonders what is actually real or just invented along the way (2000 yrs).. I stick with the 10 commandments and hope for the best :)
