Refinancing Question

Unread postby RonMN » Mon 06 Feb 2006, 15:03:03

In the last few months i've been receiving quite a few requests from my current mortgage bank for me to refinance my home. This is nothing new really, but what is new is the amount of contacts i've had...They have called me several times, mailed me several times, even overnight mailed me twice, and include refinancing info in every monthly bill.

I was wondering, why the sudden barrage?

Then a funny thought hit me...might it be possible that they've included a "hyper-inflation clause" in the fine print? A caluse that doesn't exist in my current mortgage?

Does anybody out there deal with mortgages that could answer this question?

Thanks. :)

Well, you are right. Last year I literally begged my friends' to have fix interest rate. All meals on my god damned money to buy good Chinese food in good restaurants just to discuss fixed interest and future trends in 20 years. All go down the river and monsoon drains.

This year interest rate rise to 6.25 % compared to last year 5.4% and they shouted for help. I cannot do anything. Can you scanned a copy of new mortgage plan ?? I try to ask my Borneo lawyer friend to read your Yankee documents.

No there is no special clause in the event of hyper-inflation. The reason they are barraging you is because...its good business. They make money every time someone refinances due to refinancing charges. They are trying to get the last few fools who haven't refinanced to a decent rate before the interest rates climb and climb and climb and...

Borneo's right- we've seen mid five and now we're headed to mid 6. I'm guessing mid 7 within a year.
