Welcome back Heinie...

I sorta met my wife online too... I say sorta since I had already met her twice w/some friends (back when she was married ) and I met her online months later after that (when she was separated) and talking about people we realized we knew the same people and had already met in person, LOL

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('cynthia', 'D')ear One!
You are back, like the Bluebirds that return to the nest-box each spring; it is a gift to have you stop by and sit a spell. You sound better post absence and that is a healthy sign. Congratulations on your love. She sounds well suited to what you value. Freecycling, Physician's Assistant. You go!
So sorry your mom is struggling with aging/physical issues. Your folks are lucky to have sons who care so much.
Glad to hear you are still working the land and finding tools to make the job easier.
I am mostly a lurker these days at PO. Life is good. I am still with and loving my man going on 24+ years. I work more than I would like but it's a good job and one thing, as you know, leads to another.
Blessed Be, Brother,
cynthia

Hi Cynthia! I remember you!

Yes, you noticed the change in my tone. Love will do that. (Not to mention the prospect of a little regular nookie, lol.)

She is a real gem. I am so lucky, and indeed blessed.

I still have my three bluebird nest boxes. But only one produced a family of baby bluebirds this year.

Great to hear things are great with you.

I'm heading to Virgina this August, you live anywhere near Twin Oaks?

Thanks Rangerone. That's an interesting and coincidental experience you and your wife had! A story for the grandkids . . .

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('oowolf', 'W')ell, well; good news. I was afraid you'd crashed 'n' burned.
About a year ago I hooked-up with an old hippie-chick gurlfren from way back in the 70's. Since then, it's been more pookie-pookie and less typee-typee. (Living with that constant "condemned-man syndrome" is a real drag.)

peace 'n' luv

Hi herbal guy. I crashed but managed to get the pieces back together again. Life is persistent.

Yes, girls will do that to your life. More pookee and less typee, heehee.

Needless to say I've mastered the art of text messages by now.

I can't wait for August 31! That's when she flies here ONE-WAY. Wowie.

(We first met February 15.)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('bromius', 'W')elcome back Heineken :) Your absence from the board was definitely noticed. Glad to see your journey has brought you to a positive place, despite the difficulties. I'll have to resurrect some of the tree/forest threads 8)

Why, thank you bromius.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('davep', 'I')t's great to see you back, Heineken. And I hope things improve for your parents.

It sounds like you've taken the time away to concentrate on your real needs. Good luck and God bless.

Ah, davep, glad to see you're still here, and looking forward to reading your thought-provoking posts (which i know I don't always agree with---so much the better!).

Hello Heineken. Your spirit sounds renewed and awakened. Glad to hear from you. I actually logged on just now to say hi. I may peek in here more often now that you've decided to come back and enlighten us. I'm a lurker these days. I just don't have the time to get involved in any kind of regular dialog online. Take care. SCF.

Argentina now pal! I could manage to "upgrade" my parents house to be as self sufficient as I could (security, solar heaters, my own water well, etc.) Situation is bad here, but nothing I´ m not used to, so is ok. I´m happy to hear that you are good and well. Always take care of yourself Heinie and see you around! If all the POers died and went somewhere together, would it be heaven or hell?

Hello SCF. Your post flatters me. I miss you too, and I well understand the problem of TIME.

Of all the PO members, you are the one I'd most want to have as a neighbor. (On another side of my place I think I'd want Ludi; she's crabby but she grows and makes weird interesting stuff and espouses the wisdom of the ages.)

Hello bearded one. Still holding forth from your ledge on the mountaintop, I see.

Yes, everything simple and plain and moth-eaten has a use, doesn't it? That's what we've lost sight of, as a race.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('SeaGypsy', 'S')o Heineken; where is the new love at vis a vie peak oil?
Where on Kubler-Ross is she?

She's pretty "with it." She's into many Green concepts, but one blind spot is she doesn't believe the world is overpopulated! (I will help her see the light on that one.)

I explained PO to her and she just listened. I don't think she disagreed. She just quietly absorbed what I said.

By Kubler-Ross I assume you're referring to assisted suicide? Or natural acceptance of death? She's a respiratory therapist and in two months will graduate as a physician assistant (sort of an "M.D. lite"), so she's no stranger to any of that stuff. And I found her views enlightened, even though she's part of an establishment that often artificially extends life beyond any rhyme or reason.
