You should do what I do, which is stop in here occasionally. You aren't going to change anyone but who knows, you may given them fruit for thought. That's all you can do.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mos6507', 'W')ell folks, it's that time again. The quality of discussion here at peakoil.com has hit another all time low. We've got moon landing hoaxes, discussions on the ecological imperative of preserving the red hair gene, shorty fillabustering for cornucopianism, and planty back on the case full-time with the Rush Limbaugh partisanship. Coming here has been so habitual that I haven't been able to truly realize that it isn't enhancing my understanding of doom anymore. It's been the place I go to in order to not feel alone in my doomerism, but I don't feel like most of the active posters here are part of my inner circle. I really don't feel I belong in this little eccentric coffee klatch going on. I've already connected with a few peakoil.com members outside of the site. Pops, Narz, and Revi especially (who I consider a true brother in arms). I know I'm on good terms with a few other posters, most of which don't even post anymore. If anyone would like to stay in touch, PM me and I'll consider exchanging email addresses or adding you on Facebook.

Please don't headout, MOS. You contribute better than a lot of the others here.

It's always worthwhile to take a break from this place for a while, so good luck Mos. I just don't see the need to tell everyone.

well, if you're going to leave PO.com, why don't you visit TIU -

http://theinfounderground.com/forum/vie ... fa4451cf9f

there's a thread entitled, "Israel did 9/11, All the Proof in the World".

these people obviously need to be called Twoofers, and would clearly benefit from Mos' adherence to the US Government's Official Conspiracy Theory of 9-11.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Plantagenet', '
')The mods do a good job of maintaining a tolerant culture here at PeakOil.com----- I agree with Sixstrings that this is a strength of this site.

Thanks! We do try. :) No one ever gets warned, suspended, or banned for sharing unpopular (and lawful) ideas alone. Some have tried to chip away at this core value of ours ... and all have failed. Thankfully! 8O

Our tolerance stops, however, when the free exchange of majority or minority held ideas becomes a frontal attack featuring free flying Foster mugs.

I only keep reading here because of the excellent tolerance even when I get annoyed at some of what is tolerated LOL

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'M')os is over at the theoildrum flogging the same old dead horse, that the US financial crisis and the world's financial woes all stem from the same thing--US mortgages/derivatives crash. He will not consider that peak is here, and the consequence has been world recession.

Mos at the Oildrum

The folks at theoildrumnot are not buying it either. I wonder when he will boldly announce his exit from that place also?

It is at least as fair as him starting the thread to make a big deal about leaving.

Mos had a fit of pique because the mods wouldn't ban several posters he disliked, so he started this thread with one last go at them before he left.

Its true it wasn't very fair or classy of Mos to leave that way, but that shouldn't surprise anyone ----- he did much the same thing the previous two times he pulled this drama queen routine

You know the difference between an Englishman and a Jew? Beside of the obvious , of course. An Englishman leaves and doesnt say good-bye, and a Jew says good-bye and doesnt leave.

Your repeated stereotyping and ridicule of Jews is repugnant. It would be the same were you attacking Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims or Mormons en masse.

Enough speculation. I started this thread because I was one of the most active posters here and disappearing without a trace was going to leave some people scratching their heads, including some I want to stay in touch with. Don't overanalyze it.

You want to fill this thread up with unmoderated ad-homs, be my guest.

I still lurk, which it seems a great many members do. Not much worth reading. If I want the day's news, I hit up The Oil Drum's Drumbeat. And I find doom bloggers like Sharon Astyk, Greer, and Peak Shrink have much more thoughtful musings about doom than the average peakoil.com member.

If I have something I want to say, I'll stick it on my blog.

Well heres wishing you good luck mate. Shame to see you go when I reckon you were a worthy adversary but hey, it was good listening to what you had to say, even if I did not agree. There was a good bit of sense in some of your ideas, idealistic as well. Good stuff.
