The govt has shown conclusively and repeatedly that it will sacrifice the US's long-term structural integrity to maintain its short-term status quo, thereby maximizing the wealth of the Elite. Given current political incompetence and corruption, it is now impossible for the US to restructure its economy in time to avert a total collapse.

Apparently, the Elite do not realize that when the ship sinks, they will sink along with it.

Correct, except the fact that the elite never sinked with the ship. They will be just fine, don't worry.


The Problem for the Elite will be their loss of anonymity
as the Islands of prosperity shrink.

And it becomes ever more difficult to get those

Lot of rage in the country, I expect more of this sort of thing until the government loses it's sympathy for the very rich and influential at the expense of the other 99.5% of it's citizens
