Calif* taxed food during the 1st savings & loan collapse to keep housing afloat. It's nothing new.
People first, then things, then dollars.
There will be enslavement, cannibalism, & zombie invasions.

Poor Americans.
They will be taxed until they have no money left... and then the taxman will charge their CC accounts to collect a tax from future earnings from employment which they don't have yet.
And if ones existing CC accounts are drawn to the limit, taxman will helpfully open new for him/her and charge them to the limit to collect more tax etc. :-D

And there will be no functional services left, only taxes to maintain them.
And there will be a 100% tax on all food spending, unless you are on food stamps - if so, then your food will be free. :-D

Unlimited taxing freedom in land of the free.
Hey, if I am an American, I would study to become a taxman.

It will be interesting in 2012 to see what the Dems have to say about why we're in so much financial trouble. After all, since their (general) view of economics is taxes=nirvana, we should be in the chips by then.

By the way, I'm a moderate libertarian who voted for Obama, so don't assume this is Fox News ultra right wing ranting -- it is an observation from someone who wanted change, not tons more government.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('rangerone314', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Olaf', 'S')o much lawyer hate. Hate a lack of integrity in everything, but it is just too easy to hate lawyers by putting them into a category like that. Races and religions get put there too. Lawyers suck until you need one.

I am not a lawyer, but did almost go to law school many years ago.

Olaf

I could say that morticians suck too until you need one, but I don't really feel that way.

Morticians don't work to create the circumstances for more death.

I can't say the same about lawyers, prosecutors, judges, politicians...

If morticians ran the country, they'd be just as corruptable; and I've got nothing against them. :)

Power hunger and poor ethics cause corruption, not law, which is a pre-requisite for something to be corrupted to begin with. Do you propose lawlessness?

Sorry to derail topic, and not looking to pick a fight, just talk about.

If all the lawyers had been hung last week, why would I need one?

There has to be a set of rules by which people live their lives, a set of consequences for people who break the rules, and a system for insuring the the innocent are protected.

That requires lawyers, unfortunately.

And why do any of the things you mention require "lawyers"?

I love your guys anecdotal stories of firemen getting paid 100,000 + year or sixty five million fire trucks sent for a small house fire.
