Hell, most inverters are warrantied for ~5-15 years. I'm guessing that you're just BS'ing in order to spread FUD, but I suppose it's possible that you have no clue about your own system and are getting ripped a new one purchasing inverters every couple years. For that matter, renewables supplied about 7% of world energy consumption in 2004, and have continued to grow since then, so saying that 99.9% of everything made comes from FF energy is bunk. How's that astroturfing going anyway?

3. I never said a thing about "inverters" - I said "charge controller" but then you wouldn't know the difference.
For the record, my current Trace inverter has last 8 years so far. The prior one lasted just over 7. Charge controllers (same brand) are an entirely different story.

LOLerCOPterz, here's an inverter w/ a 10 year warranty, and here's another one. Ten years is pretty much the industry standard, although it would suck if you have to replace hardware out of pocket while the grid-tie stuff would still be warrantied.$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('lonewolf', '3').
