$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Questionmark', 'M')uch of the people here remind me of truthers, birthers, and Ron Paul supporters.
Truthers and Ron Paul'ers maybe, but birthers not so much. Easily manipulated conspiracy nuts who support the constitution? Absolutely :lol:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Questionmark', 'A')bout me:

I was born in Warsaw and came to NYC with my parents at an early age. I am now 21 years old and studying history. I enjoy creating & viewing art, competitive video games (quake live), and my netflix account.

I don't remember when I first heard of peak oil but it didn't really pique my interest until very recently. I came here after trying to spark discussion on the topic on another forum i've frequented for several years but nobody there seems to have anything to say on the subject. Now i'm just trying to figure out how this will unfold (specifically in NA and Europe), and what the best course of action is.

Where I stand:

Much of the people here remind me of truthers, birthers, and Ron Paul supporters. Which is unfortunate, because I never thought i'd belong to such a group; however, after absorbing everything I could find in the past few weeks I do believe that we have already entered peak oil and that the effects have been weakened by the recession. Nothing new for many of you but it came as quite a shock to me.

Come hither, my little friend.

For a good intro: (wolf at the door) http://watd.wuthering-heights.co.uk/

Then if you want to get heavy: http://dieoff.org/

Or my personal favorite: http://cluborlov.blogspot.com/

Edited to add possibly the most potent single article I have read (of many thousands): http://dieoff.org/page15.htm

Here's my first post

Postby kimbari » Sun 17 Jan 2010, 21:20:57

Driving by. I'm Kim, I live in Southern California right now but I plan to move back to my native Chicago for family (kids and grandkids), community (a permanent depression won't make much of a difference to the ghetto), and WATER. I don't even want to think about what life might be like in this paved-over desert w/o oil. I've been unemployed for over a year, nobody can tell me PO is a myth.

Anyway, I'm old (54) and I have a number of health problems, but I am determined to survive, and to make sure that my progeny survives. I'm reading and learning more every day, and I hope to have interesting conversation w/people who won't give me a tharn stare when I bring up the subject of societal collapse.
