$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Dukkha', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '4')4% OF AMERICANS WOULD LIKE BUSH BACK AS PRESIDENT
....
Just think about that for a second.

I'm thinking about it but all I'm getting is that at least 44% of Americans are as thick as mud. Am I close?

I think we can conclude that 53% of the Americans who turned out to vote in November 2008 were, and probably still are, thick as mud. But only about 56% of people of voting age turned out to vote, leaving 44% who might have voted for a third Bush term if that were allowed, but who should have voted for McCain. Next time they'll know.

Interesting that Bush's popularity is now comparable to the Sitting President's.

I think the reason this topic upsets me so much is I used to be married to someone who never took responsibility for her own problems. She always had someone else to blame. I think scapegoating is one of the worst human character traits there is.

The problems we have today are systemic. They go waaay behind our public officials. This attempt we have to look at authority as the keys to our happiness or misery largely ignore the big contribution that our collective behavior makes, such as the mass hysteria of consumption in the form of SUVs, McMansions, and ARMs. I bat away any and all ideas that attempt to raise up J6P as some Jesus-like martyr at the hands of TPTB.
