Apparently there was an "exercise" yesterday that swiched off the banking system for 24 hrs in US and Europe:

So, is all tinfoil or did someone had the same experience?

This actually raised my hackles this weekend. Many major (and some smaller) banks and online trading sites in the US, Europe and Australia shut down Internet access to their services at the same time this weekend "for routine maintenance". A bit unlikely, to say the least. Sites that large run hot backups and can swap from one to another without going down for hours.
