Homeland security - Giant burrito - Energy Wasted

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'C')LOVIS, N.M. - A call about a possible weapon at a middle school prompted police to put armed officers on rooftops, close nearby streets and lock down the school. All over a giant burrito.

Someone called authorities Thursday after seeing a boy carrying something long and wrapped into Marshall Junior High.

The drama ended two hours later when the suspicious item was identified as a 30-inch burrito filled with steak, guacamole, lettuce, salsa and jalapenos and wrapped inside tin foil and a white T-shirt.

Attack of the giant burrito

Does the rest of the world think the U.S. is becoming a bit paranoid & looney?

I know I do...

And I'd like to say thanks to all the security moms who live in state sponsored fear, the nasty, talking head media, corporations and others who profit from this fear, and pretty much the entire politically correct, germ-phobic, tort minded, greed mongers who bring us this pathetic version of life.

Let's face facts... we have fucked up the gene pool.

Out goes the baby with the bathwater.

We decided to get rid of macho bullshit; questioning male dominated culture.

But we also chucked bravery, real morality, & balance.

Now we get to enjoy this level of nonsense...

Thanks for the burrito.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

I’m with ya part of the way there! The blithering clueless-wonders like  Michael Moore  reveling in stirring up the soccer moms also mostly without-a-clue are just sickening. I have wished that piece-of-filth would choke on a Happy Meal since Roger & Me along with the rest of the no-clue crowd just like him.

That has absolutely nothing to do with the theme of this thread. In fact, the main point of Bowling for Columbine was that the reason for the gun-related problems we have in this country is not because of too many guns, but because of the culture of fear.

BIGG is just here to bash anyone who criticizes the Bush Administration and their NeoConservative philosophies.

Aaron, I agree with you. Our society has become a society of wimps who can't be offended and who are afraid of their own shadow.

Sad really.

To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. ~ Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

I think you must have seen a different Bowling for Columbine then the one I suffered through by that piece-of-filth known as the ever wacky Michael Moore because the one I saw was pointing the finger at everybody except the those pulling the trigger.

You got it all wrong here, I don’t agree with everything George Bush does but I’ll be dammed if I’m going to listen to your average dolt without-a-clue telling me everything he does do is wrong either.

Don’t get yourself into the habit of painting with such a broad brush there Roy cus you may be covering up things like the truth.

One of the very first points he made in the movie was that there are other countries with shitloads of guns and they aren't running around blasting each other by the thousands. Canada for instance. IIRC he was a gun owner himself and very comfortable handling them. It isn't the guns, it's the culture.

Moore pointed out how Canada actually has the same number of guns per capita and yet they leave their house doors unlocked. He walked into a couple of them on the movie (did your version of the movie have part in it too?) but instead of around 600- 1,300 gun deaths per year that Canada had, the US had something over 10,000.

He was saying its insanity what the culture of fear is doing and that everyone is pointing the finger elsewhere, but that the US is getting what they are willingly buying into. he was raised in Michigan which is apparently a big Militia activist area and has his own guns.

but I guess its tough to see things past your own bias' especially when Moores bias is to apparent and in your face. too bad his points get missed cause they are interesting.

The “culture” that gets its philosophy from those who are a well-proven liar, fraud, & cheat with every movie he makes? Make sure your information gathering standards are higher than Dan Ruther’s because you can pretty much bet everything coming out of that pig Michael Moore’s mouth is a lie, distortion or outright fraud.
