The other day, someone here at peakoil.com was talking about another site where they hang out, where the members (Christians?) brag about how many times they've gotten their wife pregnant, and how many kids they're having to prepare for doom. I can't find the post, and it's driving me crazy. If you're the person I'm thinking of, or this rings a bell for anybody, can you please post and fill me in a little? I'm curious about this phenomenon.

Search the term "quiverfull" and you can find dozens of sites where thousands of people are bragging about their unrestrained and unleashed prodiguous propagation. I think one of the sites is called 'Lots-o-Kids'.

I said something the other day about a guy on another board (it's not a Christian board but a board for my profession which means that guy is college educated) who frequently encourages everybody to be furiously in the baby-making business, his goal is 12 but I think he has said he and his wife are only up to 7 so far.

It seems to me that most of the active message boards that I read have a couple or more posters with very large families and they are proud of it and talk of it frequently.

The board called 'Homesteading Today' is run by a guy who authored an article called 'The New Natalism' or something like that which is featured at the site. A lot of the posters there seem to understand the issue of declining resources but they seem to think the way to combat that problem is to propagate a prodiguous number of 'good children' (in order to out-breed the spawn of undesirable people). They don't care for what I have to say there so I dropped out awhile back. Some of them post over and over, very self-righteously and condescendingly, that anyone who is not compelled to follow the Divinely mandated command to produce all the children they possibly can is 'mentally ill' and needs therapy to correct the disorder.

It's curious how many of the 'survivalists' sites are a mixture of God, guns and babies.
