Help! Looking for an old peakoil article/novel I can't find.

Unread postby Barbara » Thu 24 Sep 2009, 08:34:06

I post here since the OT forum doesn't work.
I'm desperately looking for a novel (a three page article, more exactly) I've read some years ago. It was online and famous among peakoilers.
It was the story of the slow end of a civilization. The story of a woman, their daughters and nephews, how their way of life slowly went back, until in the end the last girl of the family walked away from the city in ruins not even knowing it was the definitive end of their civilization.

While I remember the plot, I can't find it on Google, maybe because my english is not so smart in guessing the right keywords. :(

Is there anyone remembering that novel? Can you give me a link?

Thanks a lot,
Barbara

A similar themed novel, one of the best I've read is:
"Into The Forest" by Jean Hegland

Thank you Leanan!

It was Greer, and not a "standalone" story but a paragraph of his famous The Long Road Down: Decline and the Deindustrial Future. Here. A true classic!
