Global Research News - Fact or Fiction

Unread postby Kristen » Sat 29 Aug 2009, 17:45:09

I love my global research! I recommend to many to read the news on the website from Canada, only to give a more wider scope on certain issues. I've also been a little skeptical on the truth of some of articles posted there. For example, here are some recent headlines:

“DNA can be faked”: Authentication of forensic DNA samples"

Anything can be faked right?

"The Militarization of Latin America"

Apparently the United States is opening seven bases in Columbia to assist them with drug trafficking. I don't see this as a war declaration on Latin America as the article does.

"CDC says to assume 1 in every 100,000 vaccine recipients will suffer serious side effects, FDA only requires vaccine be effective"

I wholeheartedly agree with this article. Call me delusional, but in the last six years we've been constantly told that we were going to die from some kind of illness. There was mad cow, sars, and now this bird flu. None of them never made it to Minnesota apparently. Also the FDA is an organization meant to help big pharma and not protect the citizenry.

"Military To Work With FEMA During Swine Flu Pandemic"

The report warns this is a prelude to martial law, but GR have been claiming that martial law would happen any day now for years. It's hard to believe them after so many prophecies fell short.

So what do my firends on peakoil.com have to say about all this? I've seen some links to GR in the news section and I'm sure many readers of this site have read GR.

Fact or Fiction?

The facts might be right, but interpreting their meaning and their future ramifications is often the catch.

The NYT had the story 10 days earlier.

I tend to find it on the very fringes of credibility.
