Where do these abiotic statistics come from, and are they true?$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I')t has long since been much more than a theory and for twenty years Russian drillers have successfully brought in super deep wells using it. The deepest exploratory hole went to 40,000 feet. Russia, once regarded as having little potential, is now, along with ourselves and Saudi Arabia one of the top three oil producers in the world. There are more than 80 oil and gas fields in the Caspian district, all producing from crystalline basement rock. 90 petroleum fields have been developed in western Siberia. "11 major and one giant field have been developed in the Dnieper-Donets basin;" there are 20 wells in Viet Nam producing at 17,000 feet in areas that Western experts considered not worth exploring.
I give abiotic theory little credence. I'm just wondering whether these are outright lies or not.

The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Yep, I'm very familiar with that link. But I'm addressing the guy's specific claims about all these wells "producing from crystalline basement rock"and others producing at "17,000 feet," well below the oil window. Any truth to that?

I don't know about the specific depths of these fields, but as far as production from crystalline basement rocks, oil and gas can be trapped and produced from any kind of rock that has prosity and permeability. For this to occur in basement rocks ususally requires extensive fracturing. However, this does not prove or disprove abiotic oil. It is being produced from a reservoir that it migrated into from its source, whatever that is.

The thing about abiotic advocates is that Russia or anyone else have not found any oil in non sedimentary basins. That is only way to prove their theory.

From the clip you gave it looks to me like that is something that JOE VIALLS wrote.

Joe Vialls claims to be an ex MI 6 or one of the British security numbers. He has some very extreme views, and he makes claims that I haven't seen verified, such as the wells in vietnam.

Joe has had his website shut down I know of at least once (think it was a free site based out of Australia) that shut him down for his statements.

He has reopened it, but I haven't visited it. I did go to the site that was shut down a few times. Taken his background and his rhetoric Joe V is something to take with a pinch of salt and verify if possible. For instance if you can find his site he will have some "evidence" to prove that the train bombing in North Korea was a nuke.

Gives a pretty plausible explanation. Throws in some science and uses his background (so he says) to show the aerial equipment and more to carry it out. Quite a plan if that's what happened. However....

This was the train that blew up in the station that the North Korean Jim Jung Ill passed thru 2 hours before. He was returning from China

I haven't heard of him making any claims lately. The abiotic oil theory was one of the last things he has talked about before he was taken down. That has been around for maybe 8-9 months.

The abiotic oil people in general are talking out their bottoms. Someone ought to put FartFilters (TM) on them, or at least harness the methane to do something useful.

you know what. it doesn't really matter, cuz PO is about not able to pump oil fast enough and that production will start heading down.

even if there are more oil in the ground, we are not finding it and by the time we find it, the production will simply replace existing fields declining.

we need 120+mbpd by 2025 is what is forecast.
impossible to get there with current economics.

let's just say 90mbpd is needed. that means 32.85 Billion barrels of oil need to be found and pumped per year.

it doesn't matter where oil comes from because we won't have ability to find that much oil in time to prevent PO.
