Err pass, I got the episodes off usenet. The show is definitely American though it's set in L.A (post apocalypse).

Perhaps Cloud9 has the info

just watched it, I think it was 277 travel channel, but I've changed channel now. Kind of interested to see how the unarmed yuppies do against the armed biker gang next week. yawn.

What stupid show. Doing it for real in Alaska was 1 thing, but staging it in downtown LA with fake robbers is stupid.

There will be enslavement, cannibalism, & zombie invasions.

Of course it is contrived. Still the solutions for water filtration and power are pretty interesting. In the real world when the bad boys show up with the 50 cal and the Aks, the colony would find its only chance to survive would be to convince the raiders to let them live as slaves.

Saw the first three. There are some gems sprinkled amongst the melodrama.

The wood-burning gasifier (sp) was amazing to me.

At this point, can the marine biologist be sacrificed to the zombies as obsolete?

That was interesting. There is a guy one town down from me that is running his pickup with one. For real. Has the boiler mounted to the plow frame.
.
Other then that there is just no way to put these people in real crisis situations without risking sombody getting hurt so the whole thing is fake and pointless. Better to make a movie based on doomer porn. bring on the Zombies.

"The Colony" on Discover channel

Unread postby rangerone314 » Wed 19 Aug 2009, 08:31:52

Anyone watching "The Colony" on Discover channel?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Colony_(TV_series)
The series takes place over the course of ten weeks and was filmed in an industrial area bordering the Los Angeles River on the edge of downtown Los Angeles, and follows ten volunteers in an environment that simulates life after a global catastrophe

Its only been on since the end of July. I watched my first episode Tuesday night around 10pm.
