People convince themselves that traveling is educational and good for society, when I think it is running away. You get that endorphin rush leaving. From the kids? The neighbors?
I guess I was lucky and got it out of my system early. Folks sent me on a thirteen-county, six-week YMCA teen tour to Europe when I was fifteen. Learned to hate suburban sprawl at a very early age. Been trying to fix it ever since.
