We're controlled by our gut bacteria!

We're controlled by our gut bacteria!

How much control do the two and a half pounds of bacteria in our intestines have over our lives? Acidophilus improves your immune system, lowers cholesterol and improves the general health of your digestive system, but after taking these probiotic supplements, I found that I became hungrier and ate more. Its more difficult for me to control my diet. I noticed when I take antibiotics that I don't want to eat as much. This might have to do in part with the poisoning effect of the antibiotics on my system, but maybe its also because the bacteria in my digestive system aren't signalling for me to eat more. Could obesity be tied to these bacteria? Is it possible that our development of agriculture was in part due to these bacteria? Bacteria are the original life forms on our planet. Could it be possible that human evolution was caused by these bacteria in order to house them and help them reproduce? Tons of nitrogen are fixed synthetically every year and a lot of it is used as fertilizer. Bacteria can also fix nitrogen, but mankind can do it on a much larger scale. Have the bacteria in some way planned for us to use our technology to produce more fertilizer to help them reproduce? Tons of minerals are taken out of the earth to be used as fertilizer in order to grow more crops to feed us which, of course, results on more of these bacteria reproducing......

Could you elaborate on your time, wisdom facet of an indifferent materialism. I'm fascinated.

indifferent materialism? i just want to make the photosynthesis while referencing and using wisdom that have existed for millenia... the "after life" is life itself in another plane of existance. :)

She was also married for a time to Carl Sagan.
"The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays, is coming to a close. In its place we are entering a period of consequences…"
Sir Winston Churchill

Beliefs are what people fall back on when the facts make them uncomfortable.
