SPG,

You have my condolences. This is hard for a stranger. More so for someone who knew and liked the person. Not enough good people in this world to lose them so senselessly.

Kind Regards

I am very sorry for your loss. Loosing someone who meant as much as he did to you is never easy, especially in such a senseless and tragic way. I will hold you in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

Heartfelt Condolences SPG and apologies if anything I said caused your grief to be worsened.

 Ouch.

These white guys that rip off black music...yeck.

Now Michael Jackson the beer critic, his passing was a real loss to society.

RIP, MJ. Either one, actually, Jackson 5 and early MJ were pretty cool. He just turned into such a juggernaut of a freak show I ceased to care.

Toast to their memories!

MJ was pretty cool as a black man. It wasn't until he turned into a white woman that things got freaky.

Feeling old, RIP Farrah and Michael

Unread postby Tanada » Thu 25 Jun 2009, 19:32:37

Losing Farrah Fawcette and Michael Jackson on the same day and Ed McMahon yesterday sure makes me feel old. Most of the young people I work with have no idea how influential these people were back before the teens of today were born.

ET Online has a photo of him being worked on by paramedics:
http://www.etonline.com/news/2009/06/75724/index.html

I think it's a little tasteless to have that photo up, but I noticed something peculiar. His skin is not white -- it's brown.

So evidently all the rumors of skin bleaching were false, it was just makeup all these years.

One other item of interest: according to MSNBC, Paul McCartney is named in Jackson's will, and McCartney will inherit the Beatles catalog.

The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Farrah Fawcett AND Michael Jackson on the same day???

Unread postby Ayoob » Thu 25 Jun 2009, 19:49:27

This is NOT a good omen for 09.

My mom would not allow me to put up the FF poster when I was a kid.

it's the 70's. That was the peak of the USA, by some measures, and the cultural icons from that era are dying.

Many of us that were young then are having "oh shit" moments today.
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.

Drudge has this blurb up:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'J')ACKSON FAMILY SPOKESMAN: 'EVERYONE AROUND HIM WAS ENABLING HIM, ABUSE OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS'...

The rich and famous never seem to learn.. prescription meds are not candy, and can kill you. Just like Anna Nicole Smith, it seems like if you're famous enough even physicians will enable you.

You might be correct with your prescription drug hypothesis.

Vancouver Sun

Michael Jackson may have had prescription drug issues: Family lawyer

Jackson family lawyer Brian Oxman said that Michael Jackson may have had trouble with prescription drugs as he prepared for his grueling 50-concert show in London starting on July 13.

Oxman told CNN that Jackson was taking drugs to deal with past injuries, such as a broken back and broken leg, which were getting in the way of his concert rehearsals.

"This was something which I feared and something which I warned about," Oxman said on CNN.

"I can tell you for sure that this is something I warned about. Where there is smoke there is fire."

Meanwhile, there is a massive crowd of media, coupled with fans and supporters, are gathering outside of the UCLA medical centre.

Despite concerns about prescription drugs, Oxman said he was in fine condition during rehearsals.
