Collage kid just got initiated into Peak Oil yesterday!

Postby vision-master » Tue 12 May 2009, 08:58:38

:)

He's going to school in economics and works the front desk in the evening at my Moms senior building. I mentioned Peak Oil to him about a week about. Well, yesterday I asked, 'did you check into Peak Oil’? His eyes got real big and answered 'yes'. I think he may be converted within the near future if not already into the kingdom of doom. Praise the lord of Peak Oil........

Is he in this collage:

I used to hate doing these things in school. Even when I was 8 I could see that they were just useless busy work.

Plenty of us former college kids just got introduced to the ramifications of Peak Oil. Hello, unemployment!

well he can come talk to my 24 year old now living at home with a double major, international economics, international finance. No jobs to be had. he's been living back at home since last May when he graduated (working as a manager at the local grocery store I work at for three times the money i make). However, I don't want his job. And I love having him home because he's so good with/to his two younger brothers, but he hates this small town (all high school kids and old people, according to him).

no, the HEB grocery chain does not allow family members to work in the same department...he's in charge of the front end (cashiers, bookeeping, etc.) I'm a produce loser. (but I wouldn't mind him being my boss, he's a good kid...)

ps, had I chosen to spend five years in school I'm sure I could be doing something else; also when I first started working for the company ten years ago they asked me if I wanted to train in the SORM or SORL programs (for management); I was watching my neighbor (who hired me) having a meltdown and decided I wanted no part of it. He has since moved on, said it was too stressful. (24 hour days, etc.)

I've heard that for years, how grocery store management is The Job From Hell, insane amounts of hours put in.
