We have a situation where the world does not have enough resources to support its current human population. We, the largest consuming nations, could drastically reduce our consumption and scrap our market driven economies, or, we could just drastically reduce the population in some other parts of the world. Then we could just keep our cuurent business and economic systems running with just a little tweaking. Makes good business sense.

Could the accidental pandemic flu release and the Angola Marburg outbreak be de-population trial runs? Or am I being just overly cynical and/or prone to conspiracy theories?

Believe it or not i have tought of this...and if it were ONLY about oil this would work...but it's not...it's about the economy!

If there's a mass die-off then the dead aren't buying things wich means no growth (contration)...bye-bye stock market & jobs!

After the die-off (20 or so years) there will be a rebuilding...but it will (hopefully) be a SUSTAINABLE rebuilding!

Of course life was MUCH different in the middle ages, but the black plague "depopulated" HUGE sections of Europe.

I read somewhere that the survivers had better lives because they inherited lots of wealth ... Of course that was back when the economy was much less connected, instead of the nation of couch potatoes we have today that might not survive if dominos no longer delivers
