How long until dow 5000?

This is just a poll to determine when we all think the dow will hit 5000.

Personally I am betting on the start of may... of course I may be to optimistic.

I voted sometime this summer.

I figured out today how much I would have lost in my 401k( i moved it a long time ago but I left a litte there just so I could figure out what I would have lost for laughs) From Jan 1st to today. Yes 2 months and 9 days,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, 29%. So to all the folks NOT watching there money,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ha ha

I chose "by this summer", but it will definitely happen by the end of Fall. I have always predicted Dow ~4000 eventually, which I think will occur very late in 2009 or into 2010.

I voted before summer, I think that if it hasn't hit 5000 by summer it never will (or at least not in this cycle) as the stock market tends to bottom out before the economy does.

It always cracks me up when I hear that the stocks will break the floor and dollar will be worthless said by the same people.

I'm saying in the fall sometime.

In the next 2-3 months, people will start getting those tax rebate checks. That will likely bump the economy somewhat, since the masses are prone to spending their money. Unlike the money the Gov't is pouring into bank and insurance company equity, it will actually circulate in the economy.

I think the ultimate low in the DOW, assuming they don't just change the components of the index, will wind up being in the area of 4000.
