$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('cbxer55', 'W')hen we lived in California, after getting laid-off from an aircraft manufacturer due to the 09/11 attacks, I worked as a custodian at MOjave High School. Most boring, and often disgusting job I have ever done. But at the time, 2002 it was paying near $13.00 per hour. My wife was Payroll Secretary at the time, and still maintains contact with her former co-workers there, It would be paying over $18.00 right now.
I would hesitate to do that job again though. Most of you are probably aware of what teenagers are capable of. I have not seen one quite this bad, but pretty darn close. It happened early in the morning, and all the day shift custodians left it for me. It stayed that way for darn near the whole school day, according to one of the students I talked to.
As I said it was not this bad. But pretty darn close. It was disgusting. I could not stay in there but a few minutes at a time, constantly retching.
Next day the principal asked how come I did not do any of the normal stuff, cleaning classrooms, etc. I showed him a pic taken with my cellphone, told him I spent the whole eight hours cleaning up this mess that the custodians on first shift left for me. Also told him to talk to the student who told me it was that way all day. Principal was pretty pissed. It never happened again.
I will not readily accept a job like that again. Some things are below human dignity. photo deleted by eastbay
I woundn't have cleaned that mess up. Where was the Head Custodian? Drinking coffee?
