$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('deMolay', 'M')y grass fed Highland Beef is the best in the world. Why would I not eat it, it is healthier than vegetables that have been sprayed with oil by products.

I think anyone who raises their own livestock, on marginal land that isn't really appropriate for farming, isn't committing any major moral crime. Cutting down jungle in Brazil for grazing, or for that matter, raising soybeans, in the same deforested regions, should be carefully reexamined. So...there you go, even vegetarians eating a lot of soy, are no doubt responsible for deforestation, and in eco-sensitive and eco-essential areas. There are a lot of shades of gray here.

I used to eat fish, at least once a week, but stopped cold after looking into what overfishing is doing to the balance of nature in the oceans. Won't go near a salmon to save my life now. I had always planned, if things got tough to start fishing. My husband and I bought a boat a few years ago that is outfitted for deep sea sport fishing. Now, that is a no go. We'll continue to eat terrestrial meat, mainly free range chicken and eggs. I may even, on occassion, eat red meat, if I know the people who raised it.

Almost bought a fishing boat myself, back in my wilder days. A pal and myself worked all one year and saved, and dreamt about buying a nice wooden fishing boat down in Ladner area. And living off the fat of the seas, and the thousands of miles of coastline and islands along the BC coast. Well this was back in the 60's. And we took to chasing Hippy women instead, just couldn't get enough of them. We ended up living literally on the beach in our old camper. Finally got a construction job to make enough money to leave. No money for food just gas. We bought a loaf of pumpernickel bread, a brick of cheeze and a roll of bologna. It was a memorable trip up through the mountains in the snow and blizzards, got home for Christmas. And yes it was worth every penny.
