$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('ReverseEngineer', ' ')Bailouts are NOT putting money into the hands of the consumer in sufficient amount, even with Obama's stimulus.

No money has yet got into anyone's hands with Obama's stimulus, so it might be a little premature to judge its efficacy.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Fishman', 'Y')es CV, apparently there is a Santa afterall.
After watching these two groups in action, I think I'd take Putin's Russia over the neocons' oligarchs any time. The neocons remind me of the old Soviet Union, only run by investment banks. Not nice people.
I actually prefer small-government republics and well-regulated businesses as the best choice.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Tyler_JC', 'I')t all depends on how long the commodities bust lasts. If prices move back up, Russia can stay above water. If the bust continues and we don't crack $50 oil for a couple of years...Russia is in serious trouble. 1998 kind of trouble.
If oil remains around $40.00 for a couple of years they could be in 1917 kind of trouble.

The people responsible for getting infrastructure projects shovel-ready such as engineers, planners, estimators, developers, surveyors etc are the first recipients of stimulus related money, although it's indirect in nature.

I agree. It is just a 'one-off'. It gives the true Francophiles a chance to get back to the mother-country before it turns into Haiti. Then they can participate in the real stuff...

Not surprised. I predicted this back a month ago, those who voted for our great leader will become disillutioned at his moderate ways, those who voted against him are already starting to hit the streets. The summer of our discontent.

Now is the summer of our discontent
Made glorious winter by collapse of our banks;
And all the debt that lour'd upon our houses
In the deep pockets of elites buried.
Now are our wallets bound with credit card debt;
Our bruised necks hung up because of ARMS;
Our once merry meeting changed to Alarums ,
Our delightful walks changed to death marches.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('GASMON', '
')Superintendent David Hartshorn, who heads the Metropolitan Police's public order branch, said he feared there could be 'mass protest' at rising unemployment, failing financial institutions and the downturn in the economy.
The officer told The Guardian that 'known activists' were planning returns to the streets, (continues)

Speaks volumes.

But the oinkers are just whipping up their usual FUD. But this is probibly what they are squeeling about.
http://www.putpeoplefirst.org.uk/
They are trying to whip up a bit of fear about C18 (given that that was set up by state assets FFS!) and the lefties like the swappies and black block at the same time it seems like they are just stirring the pot.

Mind you some old school RTS protest would be so well welcome as the crackdown on Free Parties and Festivals has been a bit of an opression. Not that Ive ever been to squat party :roll:
